Haven't updated this in a long while but will try and keep it updated periodically, just hard to find the time as of late.  Was messing about in the gym yesterday and ended up getting some numbers and while I don't focus on the distances and whatnot that I can generate I figured it would be a good marker to see where I was at during this time as well as for Parkour people in general to see.

HS Hold (In Place): 21 Seconds

Superkip Challenge: 3.02 Seconds

Cat pass exit distance (to concrete, 3ft3in high vault, landing on the ground level) : 11ft 3in

Also check out my new video!

The Parkour/Freerunning community in Texas is large and diverse and up until now there hasn't really been a place for Traceurs, Freerunners, and other Practitioners of Movement in the Texas area to come together and share ideas. Lonestar Parkour hopes to change all that by providing regular news and content pertinent to everyone in Texas as well as up to date information on everything going down in any area from San Antonio, to Dallas, to anywhere in between. We are giving everyone regardless of what your views are a welcoming place to give your thoughts, and get the info you need.

Enjoy the site and I hope to see you there!

Tue, 13 Apr 2010 06:57:00 -0700 Outmaneuver the Motion http://www.jeremesanders.com/2010/04/outmaneuver-motion.html http://www.jeremesanders.com/2010/04/outmaneuver-motion.html Started out just making another yearly sampler where I'd pick a song, shoot some clips and post it up as a visual reminder of where I was at as well as to show others where I was, not only for people to enjoy but also for constructive criticism. Time kind of rolled around where I usually get my yearly sampler out and I just didn't feel very motivated, was stuck doing a lot of conditioning stuff and coaching predominantly without a whole lot of personal training, and I didn't really feel like I'd had a whole lot of progression at the time. To kind of try and get over that I went out to a new park and that's where I found the tree you see in the first and last clips, and for whatever reason it really inspired me, and I spent the next hour or 2 trying to get from one side to the other as fast as I could, however I could. This not only rekindled my spirit a bit but it also helped get me back on track from thinking about what certain movement I could do in a certain place, restraining myself to "moves" essentially rather than challenging myself and using movement in ways I'd not originally thought. This made the video a whole lot more personal, made me want to make it completely my own, so I worked on creating the music, which was new to me, along with editing all the footage as well. Rather than title it something like "2010 Sampler Jereme Sanders" or something I thought that Outmaneuver the Motion worked well as I was getting back into just moving, not worrying about the motions, just moving and let my creativity and mind do what it wanted.

This was the result, Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did making it.

Definitely have no clue what I'm doing with the press, or powerclean, and any tips to stop my rounding of my back in the squat. Any and all help is welcome.

Thought I would put my base stats for everything-

Press: 70 lbs
Power Clean: 90lbs

I'll be posting up my weekly progress (this is my third so I got some catching up to do for the log) and I'll also be putting a video up soon so as to check for form.

Wed, 15 Apr 2009 03:58:00 -0700 Big Things in SA http://www.jeremesanders.com/2009/04/big-things-in-sa.html http://www.jeremesanders.com/2009/04/big-things-in-sa.html Things have been going well as far as productivity in SA and I just thought I would do a small update about it.

We currently have Parkour classes every sunday at 3pm at Rivercity gymnastics, this has been going for a couple months now and while the turnout isn't huge it has been getting progressively better, and should just keep on moving up. we've also been coming together and spent pretty close to no money on materials (other than screws and the like) and have proceeded to make 4 precision trainers, one vault box shell, a vaulting table that needs supports and we still have a lot of material left over for a bunch of other things.

Also in the works are Parkour classes with TXPK at Body Armor fitness, which will hopefully be happening within the next couple months. The owner seems seriously gung ho about getting these classes off the ground I think it will be an amazing opportunity to get Parkour even more out there.

Also in related news UTSA, the university I was going to is interested in implementing a Parkour program there, hopefully more news to follow eventually.

Peace guys!

Tue, 27 Jan 2009 16:10:00 -0800 Ft Worth Workshop at Fighting Method University http://www.jeremesanders.com/2009/01/ft-worth-workshop-at-fighting-method.html http://www.jeremesanders.com/2009/01/ft-worth-workshop-at-fighting-method.html This past Saturday saw Matthew Willis and I leading a workshop at the Fighting Method University in Ft. Worth, Texas. We had a great turn out of about 38 people ready to learn a little about the conditioning we go through for Parkour.

The Day started pretty cold, as we were setting up how the workshop would run as well as just staying warm we didn't initially see a great turn out of actual locals which at first was kind of a let down, but it was still early so we were hopeful. The time came around to officially get started with the workshop so we rounded everyone there up (which was about 20 at the time) and started with a bit of running to warm up. We ran forwards, backwards, Grapevine, Side shuffles, hops and then led into a couple different forms of quadrupedal. We went over forward, backward, side monkeys, the galloping planet of the apes style as well as a couple others that elude me. It was about this time I'd say about 15 more people showed up out of nowhere for the workshop so while we kept the warm up going they went to get signed in and started as well.

We then worked into some joint rotations and then straight into diving monkeys and the progressions to it, side plank and all that kind of thing, was pretty intense for my shoulder but was, as usual, a great deal of fun and really sucked at the same time. After those we did a great deal of technical work just doing repetitions of precisions on the ground and then roll technique work.

After the technical stuff we had a short water break and used whatever obstacle we could muster, which ended up being a couple of piled up tires and striking pads and an obi and soft bo. Main focus of the drill was creativity and fluidity moving however you wanted first to just get a feel of your body and what you could do with it. After a bit of this we actually worked a couple basic vaulting and passing techniques and finished it up afterwards.

When the workshop finished we did a bit of messing about for this photographer behind and around the university, hopefully some good pictures will ensue.

Overall it was a really great experience I feel as it actually got a good deal of the North Texas guys out to an event, which had been quite a task before, and hopefully with this short term boost of community we can have regular trainings and a more tight knit community in the North Texas Scene.

In other news I'm going to get started on amassing the hotspots in texas, as its definitely long long overdue and soon you guys will be able to reach my blog at my new domain http://www.jeremesanders.com (as soon as I figure that out that is)

Thats pretty much it for now.

I can do generally most things I was able to just with more effort and my muscular endurance is shot. A couple movements to hurt however so I'll have to wait up for those. For the most part I am back into training though and very hopeful!

Only way to fix it is surgery, which I will thankfully be getting on the 20th. After that its a 2-8 week recuperation period and after that I'll be good to start training again. Just want to this to all get done and over with so I can move on, its so frustrating.

Anyway thats really all thats been going down now, as soon as I heal I'll be sure to put another UTG up but until then I'm kinda useless physically :/
