Fall Log Entry #2

This one is for the injuries I've sustained that I don't have pictures for, only two that come to mind, as they are the only two that have lasting effects on me.

First was in feb. 07 I believe, I was going for a speed technique that I wasn't fully comfortable with at full speed (dumb idea) and I ended up clipping the lateral side of my left knee, specifically the femur. I flew about 4 feet past the object I was vaulting and rolled, got up and was limping immediately. Way I could have stopped it was progressing safer with that technique, since I wasn't fully comfortable with it, and its lasting effects on me have been just that that area was a bit more sensitive to knocks for a long time, and I am pretty sure I chipped some bone when I hit it as there is a bit of a calcium deposit there now, and you can see my knee there is noticeably different than the other.

2nd that comes to mind was at this years COPK at Cat fountain, Just did a standing cat and hit my patella, happened twice out of the 6 times I did the movement, and even after a few months while there is no pain to walk or do any movements if I touch the area where I hit its pretty sensitive sometimes, and definitely doesn't feel good to touch. May have cracked my Patella a bit, hoping it will heal like the other one and be fine after some time. Probably should have worked the smaller cat a few more times and made sure I'd get my feet as high as they needed to be every time...

Fall Log

So I've had a couple notable falls in my Training career so far and all the ones I've thought to, I've gotten some sort of photo or video documentation, mostly for personal use but thanks to a friend he brought up a good point, putting it up online as a form of documentation and that sort of thing.

So I've done this privately for about 3 years and I've just put up the pictures I have on my Flickr each with an explanation of the event and some other info

Hope you guys enjoy it

Tribe

Well I got accepted into the Tribe now, which is pretty tight, it seems things have started looking up for me, definitely glad for it!

Thank you guys!

Weird Thoughts

My summer was one of the most amazing times I've ever had, bar none. I learned a ton, had so much fun, and not only trained with a lot of my prior friends but make new friendships as well. I thoroughly enjoyed myself in any way possible, but a question has crept into my mind recently. Was it worth it? I spent pretty much all of my savings on my travels in the summer and other than experiences I have nothing to show for it. Sure those experiences are great and have helped me a lot physically and mentally. But they haven't gotten me anything tangible which (I know it sounds stupid to be so materialistic right now) is kind of what I need right now haha. I got all these experiences from the summer and didn't think any more about it, I had no plan, was kind of just going with it. And now I'm poor, not even capable of affording food, and I'm relying on the good graces of others. It just has made me wonder if I've made the right choices. Sure I'm happy with everything I'm in right now, but just seems like I'm wasting my self or something, this is kind of when me and money really don't get along, as its my main dilemma right now. I just got a job as a gymnastics coach for children, which is kind of new for me (the children part anyway, not nearly as much exp. teaching them) but the pay is meh and the hours are even fewer. I really need to figure out something to do with everything I've worked for or I am not sure how sound I'll be financially in the next couple years.....
