Today was the first day of the competition we have at the rock climbing wall. Basically its a little different than usual comps in that it only matters the distance you've traveled. So far my friend Cris and I have done 40 Laps on the 55 foot wall, our goal is to do 40 laps every day, I'll update to let you know how it goes.
First 40 was kind of tough but I definitely think we can keep strong and constant throughout the week, well I hope haha.
2200 ft done...a lot more to go.
It's less competition with anyone else as it is just to see how much we can do. last I checked we were 1900 feet further than anyone else so yeah...
wish us luck

If Waking up Late Wasn't Enough...
Yesterday was worth it but the start was all sorts of crazy. First thing after being completely beat and hardly getting any sleep we get out to head to training and are already late, we get stuck in the worst traffic I've been in in recent memory, which awesomely leads to the car overheating. After letting it cool and whatnot we end up pushing the car half a mile and winging our way downtown. After getting there though it was very eventful I'd say, a decent conditioning session, lots of nice fluidity work, also found a tac over side summi outside as well as a good place for a traveling wall flip (which I botched in a random fashion). The training was short but just as good as usual, other than almost getting fined 500 for doing nothing but a precision over some water. They didn't allow us to say anything or explain so we just moved on, sucks when they don't care. Not much else went on, just finished editing an aerial tut today, got a couple others after that and I need to get ready for this climbing comp this week, Have to climb 40 laps of a 55 foot wall every day for the whole week, it will be interesting, I'll let you guys know how it works out.
Peace

Little Barefoot, Little Rain, No Problem
Had an early morning, headed to Austin for a news shoot, went well I think, did like 2 "big" things for camera, about an 8 foot vault to roll then a 9 foot one. After that we had a decent amount of training, helped some of the guys that showed up which is good, then matthew and I worked on this interesting tac to precision, was pretty tight, glad we both got it, should hopefully have pics soon. After that Devin, Erin and I shot a bit of stuff for the tutorials I made then I led Devin through a bit of Barefoot training which turned into some wet barefoot training at the end, was good stuff.
Open Your Eyes by Closing Them
Did a great deal of climbing today, not a difficult route or anything just lots of repetition it was good stuff, mainly because I was trying new stuff, which is always good. Worked some laps on a 36ft wall for a warm up with just my tennis shoes on (ariakes are pretty decent for climbing, its nice, another plus in my book) then when I started feeling tired I put on my climbing shoes for a couple more laps then decided I'd try adding some weight to it, ended up putting on all my friends backpacks and climbing with that, not exactly good for technique but it was a fun test nonetheless, did about 3 lapse with around 30-40 lbs., fun stuff. After the weighted stuff, did a couple more laps just regularly and ended with some eyes closed bouldering traverse stuff, was a ton of fun all around, I love new stuff, definitely have some stuff to work on, need to get a weighted vest or something I think.

Spring Break, Dallas, Training with Tyson
Haven't Posted in a while but I'll try to update regularly.
My spring break started with a hell of a lot of driving, about 7 hours of it in fact all the way to El Paso. There was a national jam going down there and we've never met a lot of the guys so we figured why not. After all the driving There was a good bit of training and I met some great people there, had an interesting fall about nine feet onto my right hand from trying a really weird wall scale but other than that things were good, a lot of people were doing some pretty tight stuff and the jam just had an all round good feel. It was great training with the FoF guys, the Okies and of course Team Moz. After that and some dropping off of some people as well as a script reading for an indie film Matthew and I are going to be in we took a nice drive to Dallas, and by nice I mean it was raining all the way from Kerrville to our destination. Once we got there though all was good and I got to try some stuff I've not done outside, the tac over side summi as well as the traveling wall flip. After the good bit of training with some of the tribe guys we headed back home. Tyson had planned on staying for a couple days so he tagged along. The couple days training with him have been really beneficial to my training. He uses a lot of techniques that I've not thought of and its all round just a great experience to train with someone that has learned differently than you. We did a good bit of balancing with some nice barefoot training and a decent amount of fluidity drills, just a lot of stuff and I'm definitely psyched about the different techniques he showed me, good stuff. Also got more acquainted with the SAPK peeps and while they are young and a bit reckless they have a lot of potential and if they calm down a bit I know they could go a very long way, they also have a pretty nice photographer, Erin so hopefully she'll be able to make it out more.
