Fall Log Entry #2

This one is for the injuries I've sustained that I don't have pictures for, only two that come to mind, as they are the only two that have lasting effects on me.

First was in feb. 07 I believe, I was going for a speed technique that I wasn't fully comfortable with at full speed (dumb idea) and I ended up clipping the lateral side of my left knee, specifically the femur. I flew about 4 feet past the object I was vaulting and rolled, got up and was limping immediately. Way I could have stopped it was progressing safer with that technique, since I wasn't fully comfortable with it, and its lasting effects on me have been just that that area was a bit more sensitive to knocks for a long time, and I am pretty sure I chipped some bone when I hit it as there is a bit of a calcium deposit there now, and you can see my knee there is noticeably different than the other.

2nd that comes to mind was at this years COPK at Cat fountain, Just did a standing cat and hit my patella, happened twice out of the 6 times I did the movement, and even after a few months while there is no pain to walk or do any movements if I touch the area where I hit its pretty sensitive sometimes, and definitely doesn't feel good to touch. May have cracked my Patella a bit, hoping it will heal like the other one and be fine after some time. Probably should have worked the smaller cat a few more times and made sure I'd get my feet as high as they needed to be every time...

Jereme thanks for commenting over at my blog. The project I'm working on I think will help me a ton to get into a more regular PK practice. I'm glad I that since you commented I found your blog! I'll have to check it out.

Thanks again!

I really like this idea of an injury log, reading through what's happened with your training has helped me prepare and deal with some of my irrational fears of falling. That epiphany fall still scares the shit out of me to watch, but it's really interesting to see you adapt to the situation mid-air and save your face. ;)
